INHOUSE VTM was proud to be awarded preferred supplier status for the Cape Odyssey race which spanned the Cape Coast and Winelands between the 16-25th October 2007.
The race is a 5 day extreme off-road challenge starting at the beautiful coastline of Hermanus through the mountains and ending with a 15 km beach sprint to the end of the first leg at the Kleinmond Caravan Park. From here, runners headed off over the beautiful but strenuous terrain to the end of the second leg at beautiful Paul Cluver Wine Estate. The third leg of the race took the runners through to Elgin Country Club at the edge of the Steenbras dam, the lush MTO forest and into the fourth leg ending at the famous Franschoek Monument. In total, the 220km race took participants through some of the most treacherous yet luscious terrain the Western Cape and South Africa have to offer, culminating at the world renowned Lanzerac Wine Estate hotel and Spa.
IVTM were commissioned to provide the start and finish line audio to give runners a fitting send off and welcome, and also supplied all audio visual requirements for the Chill Zones where the participants enjoyed a well-earned rest and the opportunity to relax and watch some DSTV while they waited for the Dinner and Awards evening after every leg.
For the IVTM crew, this event was memorable as it took place out in the bush in areas that seemed almost inaccessible never mind setup a full finish line PA. The Finale consisted of a formal lunch and final prize giving out at the beautiful lawns of the Lanzerac.
We are proud to have contributed to this very successful event and look forward to the 2008 race with anticipation.
