This year the Westin Cape Town hosted its annual charity event in aid of UNICEF South Africa. This charity drive forms part of the global Starwood Hotels & Resorts 'Road 2 Awareness' campaign.
INHOUSE Venue Technical Management (IVTM), the venue's preferred technical service provider was pleased to contribute to the Westin's "Halloween Charity Ball" on 3 November 2012 by sponsoring the technical requirements. IVTM is a subsidiary company of Gearhouse South Africa, which also threw its support behind the initiative, providing additional equipment where required. The band for the evening was SA favourite, Freshly Ground, and the event was MC'd by well-known comedian, Marc Lottering.
This is the hotel's main CSI project for the year. Westin General Manager, Rob Kucera, thanked IVTM for their contribution, adding "The event was a great success, enjoyed by all that attended and we are certain that this will turn into an annual event. We managed to raise R100,000.00 for Unicef which will be used for a local Education project."
