With the busy season looming; technical services supplier, INHOUSE Venue Technical Management (IVTM) and The Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel partnered up recently to offer the hotel’s clients a truly 5-star technical service. This very well established hotel is known for its client-driven approach and prides itself on offering a very high level of service.
All of the hotel’s conference venues underwent refurbishments. The Sherwood Room (formally Garden Room), Lord Nelson Room and Orchid Room each received soft refurbishments. The Union Castle and the Ballroom were completely refurbished which included the installation of high tech, up-to-date presentation equipment. The Union Castle now boasts a full Audio/AV solution controlled via a 7”touch pad which offers clients the option of using a drop down screen and projector or 55”LED plasma. The system is both VGA and HDMI compatible.
With the revamp of the ballroom, IVTM installed a full AV solution which enables the deployment of 3 screens and projectors at the touch of a button. All the 16:9 tension screens are motorized and the projectors are lift mounted which allows them to recede into the ceiling when not in use. The connection between the full digital Soundcraft mixing console and JBL VRX PA system is achieved through the network infrastructure which minimizes the cable runs around the venue.
No expense was spared with the purchase of equipment to be used at The Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel. IVTM provided a smaller PA consisting of Bose L1 units which are ideal for conferencing and a VRX system for larger conferences and other events. Shure microphones were the choice throughout the venue as the best option for high quality sound. The built in projectors are 5000 lumens Panasonic projectors with the slightly more compact mobile 4000 lumens Panasonic projectors installed in the smaller venues.
“IVTM was given a wonderful opportunity to show new clients what we are capable of,” says IVTM’s Venue Technical Manager Vaughn de Beer “and to date they have been pleasantly surprised with our service and very happy to have IVTM as their preferred supplier and partner.”
Eugene Myburgh, Banqueting Manager at the Belmond Mount Nelson concurs, “Vaughn and the team from IVTM assisted us with a seamless transition into our newly refurbished venues. We have received great feedback from our event organisers and clients on the professional technicians and quality equipment!"
