On the 1st of August 2014, technical supplier to venues, INHOUSE VTM (IVTM) opened doors at the Southern Sun O.R. Tambo Hotel. The hotel is situated in Johannesburg, just 500 metres from South Africa’s busiest airport and functions as a convenient business stop for local and foreign clients offering a 5 star service right from the front door.
On 3 and 4 Aug 2014, IVTM showcased the Gearhouse Group’s products to the hotel’s management and sales team as well as their clients, from a basic Daily Conference Package setup to the newest high-tech equipment available through the Group, including conference microphones, translation services, touch screens, registration software, twitter feed capabilities and a fully suspended lighting rig.
IVTM has installed 16:9 format screens with high definition projectors, accessed via ceiling mounted motorised lifts, into each of the conference areas. Each of the rooms, Kanya 1, 2, 3 and Illanga, are additionally equipped with a compact Bose L1 Audio system, keeping the event aesthetics at the best standard. Connecting utilising both VGA and HDMI points in the venues via a Matrix switcher; enables clients to incorporate simultaneous viewing capabilities across the whole venue for all their delegates.
Southern Sun O.R Tambo has been in existence for more than 40 years, and was previously known as Holiday Inn, Jan Smuts. Southern Sun acquired the Holiday Inn portfolio and Southern Sun O.R Tambo was born. Southern Sun O.R Tambo is the ideal hotel for all conference needs and offers 366 rooms and 5 conference venues.
IVTM has also launched a business centre located at the hotel, fully equipped and manned for all printing, courier and other business requirements.

IVTM Venue technical manager, Alix van der Walt, and his team received a warm welcome from Antony Larsen, General Manager at Southern Sun O.R. Tambo. The IVTM technical team was congratulated on a successful first month at the prestigious venue.
