The Sandton Convention Centre is Southern Africa's international leading and most prestigious, multi-purpose exhibition and convention centre. Situated in the heart of Africa's richest square mile, this twelve-storey structure is designed and built to provide 22 000 m² of convention, exhibition and special event space over five main levels - certainly a facility worthy of the title.
With a reputation of being South Africa's most technologically advanced convention centre and scooping the Favourite Technical Venue award for 3 consecutive years, it is only fitting that the quality of technical equipment provided match these standards. Sandton Convention Centre offers this technology; namely event equipment, technical and logistical support through one of the Gearhouse companies, INHOUSE Venue Technical Management (IVTM). Initially pioneered by Gearhouse South Africa, the outsourced technical management service came into operation as Gearhouse Venue Technical Management services, but when demand far outstripped expectation the service evolved into a standalone company. As of 1 April, Gearhouse is proud to announce that IVTM has officially taken over the reins at the SCC in facilitating all technical requirements, staffing and support services needed for superior conferencing and event management.Read More
Gearhouse SA (Pty) Ltd has been an integral part of the operations of uShaka Marine World since 2004. Not only were they proud to be the technical supplier to the prestigious opening of Africa's largest Marine Park but have been providing technical services under a preferred supplier agreement for the last 5 and a half years.
In addition, Gearhouse' sister company System Solutions have been awarded sought-after installation contracts at the complex such as the upgrading of the dolphin stadium in 2007 - with a state of the art digital control system, PA and Lighthouse LED screen - and a networked evacuation system in 2010 that can handle not only emergencies, but aids the marketing and entertainment aspects of the park as well - versatility that is always appreciated by the end client!Read More
The preferred supplier contract between INHOUSE Venue Technical Management and the Southern Sun Newlands hotel has been renewed as of April 2010. With a well balanced, strong and healthy relationship that has been built over the past year by IVTM representative, Bradley Cooke, who has moved up to operationally oversee all Western Cape IVTM venues, the hotel will move ahead with Vaughn de Beer who steps in as Venue Technical Manager at the venue.
This well-designed and centrally located hotel has proven perfect for small to medium sized functions and conferences. It offers 9 venues, each with customizable, signage screens which personalize your function and only the highest quality equipment and cabling, ranging from AV and Audio to Office and IT (not to mention staging and lighting for intimate evening gala dinners and birthday functions).Read More
The "Empressive" Palace joined hands with Gearhouse SA in 1999 when what was then known as Ceasars Palace opened its doors and since then the relationship has grown from strength to strength. So when INHOUSE Venue Technical management (IVTM), another Gearhouse company was formed to cater specifically to the needs of smaller events in venues, it made complete sense to transfer the Gearhouse contract to IVTM. When IVTM approached Emperors Palace to take over the operation they did not hesitate, so in April 2010 Emperors Palace officially became part of the IVTM portfolio of contracted venues.Read More
